STEM Kits with BrainSTEM

With Kshitij Banka · Bengaluru government schools

With Kshitij Banka, the founder of BrainSTEM, I put together STEM kits for children from underserved communities at urban and rural government schools in Bengaluru. Each kit has four experiments that turn an idea into something children can see, build and try:

  1. Balloon rocket. Thrust, from air escaping a balloon.
  2. A gas-making reaction. Vinegar and baking soda make carbon dioxide that blows up a balloon.
  3. A simple circuit. A battery lights an LED and spins a fan.
  4. Magnetic separation. A magnet pulls iron filings out of white sand.
